Dr Matt Brookes

Matt completed his medical training at St Georges Hospital in London, where he also undertook his Specialist Radiology training.  This training period included time spent at the Royal Marsden, Atkinson Morley and Great Ormond Street hospitals.  In 2007 he completed a 1 year fellowship in breast imaging at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.  After 3 years employed as a Radiology Consultant in Eastern Canada he returned to Perth, subsequently working at SCGH, Fremantle, and Fiona Stanley Hospitals, as well as several years as an associate at Perth Radiological Clinic.

Matt has worked as an assessor for NATA, is currently an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology, and has spent time acting as head of service at Fiona Stanley hospital.

Dr Riet D’Hauwe

Dr Elizabeth Dillon (Associate)

Dr Dillon undertook advanced training in Paediatric Radiology at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children before moving to London for two years to gain further experience at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

She is a reviewer for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology and has co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles.

  • Cross sectional radiology

Dr Jay Ives

Dr Ives completed a Body Imaging fellowship at McMaster University in 1986 and a Neuroradiology (including Neuro-Intervention) at the University of Western Ontario in 1987.

Dr Ives has previously worked at Royal Perth Hospital where he was employed as the Director of MRI services between 1993-1995. Following this he joined SKG Radiology to set up and run their MRI services.

  • Musculoskeletal MRI
  • Body MRI

Dr Heino Kaard

Perth Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Dr Kaard has worked as a consultant Radiologist at SKG and Albany Hospital

Dr. Karrd’s areas of interest include:

  • MSK Ultrasound and Interventions
  • Mammography, Breast Ultrasound and Breast Biopsies
  • Image Guided Injections
  • Body Imaging

Dr Ashok Kumar (Chairman)

Dr. Ashok Kumar completed radiology specialty training at the Royal Perth Hospital in 1984. He has worked as a consultant radiologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital since 1986 and served as RANZCR WA Branch chairman between 2000-2004.

Dr Kumar’s areas of interest include:

  • Interventional radiology
  • General radiology
  • MRI

Dr Johanna Lagerberg

Dr. Jo Lagerberg graduated in 1977 from medical school at Monash University in 1977. She undertook specialist training in obstetrics in London and returned to Western Australia as part of the physicians training program in Perth.

She concluded specialist radiology training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in 1984 and has since worked in both private and public hospital radiology departments.

Dr. Lagerberg’s areas of interest include:

  • Women’s health
  • Sports injury
  • General radiology

Dr Raghu Malghan

Dr. Malghan completed his radiology specialty training at JJM hospital under Bangalore University India in 2002 and became a fellow of the Royal College of Radiology UK (FRCR) in 2012.

Dr. Malghan has also completed further sub specialty fellowships in Chest and Abdominal Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital, Ontario, Canada from 2007-2009 and a further body imaging fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth, Australia in 2013.

Dr Long Nguyen

Dr Nguyen completed his medical degree from the University of Western Australia and worked as a junior doctor at Royal Perth Hospital. Prior to his admission into radiology subspecialty training, Dr Nguyen spent a year as a Research Fellow in Diagnostic Imaging, whose role was to update the Diagnostic Imaging Pathways website – An online evidence based clinical decision support tool and educational resource for appropriate diagnostic imaging. Dr Nguyen completed his radiology specialty training in WA in 2014.

In 2015 Dr Nguyen also completed a further subspecialty fellowship in both Chest and Abdominal Imaging at Royal Perth Hospital. He has been has been awarded the RANZCR/IRQN Quality Improvement Poster Prize in 2008 and the Philips Healthcare Australasia Scientific Paper Prize for the best Radiology Oral Presentation at the RANZCR Annual Scientific Meeting in 2009.

Dr Stephen Swift

Dr Swift graduated from medical school at the University of Western Australia in 1980. Dr. Swift then went on to complete his radiology speciality training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in 1987.

Before joining Insight Clinical Imaging Dr. Swift was a partner and consultant radiologist at SKG radiology.
